TASK 1: Plan and Proposal
Students should prepare a proposal and outline their research project BASED ON A PRELIMINARY SWOT ANALYSIS
Students need to link the Project to Learning Outcomes of minimum three-four Major related courses and demonstrate how the project integrates some of the LOs of these specialization courses
The project should discuss an issue, attempt to make recommendations for improvements, or outline a new strategy.
THERE SHOULD BE A CLEAR RESEARCH QUESTION STATED AND AT LEAST TWO RESEARCH OBJECTIVES
Research characteristics

Brief outline of the chosen organization
- Details of the chosen organization including sector, type, size activities. Industry sector
Details of the chosen industry with explanations for the choice. Why this organization was chosen
Lise some model to further demonstrate understanding of the organization, e.g., SWOT; PESTLE; PLC
Highlight the issues or challenges that lead to the proposed research objective Show evidence of research

What is the issue (problem) for this inquiry (project)
Identification of the chosen issue or challenge with a clear objective (research question{ or problem

Relevant link to at least 3 learning outcomes (semester 7 & 8) - Be clear how these link up

Why are our products/services not competitive on the market?
What do our markets perceive as our company's strengths and weaknesses?
How can we improve our financial performance to meet or exceed shareholder expectations?
Are there opportunities for our business to expand into a global markets. and if so what are the key financial issues we need to address?
What method can be applied for revenue recognition?
E.g. revenue recognition for construction, airline, or other service organisations
What can be the impact of VAT on products and services for __organisation?
Research objectives
By now you must be able to state clearly the aims and objectives of your research
Connect your objectives to the purpose of the research (what do you want to achieve from this project?)
Briefly explain the approach you will use in your research
Qualitative or quantitative methodology Explain why you chose the methodology What data you will collect, (primary v secondary)
Method of data collection e.g., observations: documents analysis; survey, questionnaires; interviews
The structure of your proposal will take following format:
i. Details of the chosen industry with explanations for the choice.
ii. Details of the chosen organization including sector, type, size activities.
iii. A SWOT analysis highlighting issues or challenges that lead to the proposed research objective
iv. Identification of at least three relevant CLOs from Semesters 7 and 8
v. Identification of the chosen issue or challenge with a clear objective or problem statement and at least two research objectives
vi. Details of the research activities including the proposed methodology
vii. A detailed plan of action including deadlines
Your proposal will take into account the following aspects:
